Dawn Dott Dance Studio has been a cornerstone of the Marquette dance community since it first opened its doors in 1982, founded by the beloved Dawn Dott and Lynne Bolitho. With her passion for dance and dedication to her students, Dawn built more than just a studio—she built a family.
Lynne taught the Ballet side of the studio, and they split to form Marquette Center for Dance and Dawn Dott Dance Studios in 1990.
She thrived in the new space, and in 2007, the legacy was carried on by former student Kimber Schumann, who led the studio with heart and vision through 2025.
Now Adina Belanger, a former student who also grew up at the studio, has taken the reins. Over the decades, countless dancers have passed through these doors—many of whom are now bringing their children and even grandchildren to dance in the very same classrooms. As the longest-running dance studio in Marquette, MI, we’re proud to have played a lasting role in shaping generations of dancers, building confidence, creativity, and lifelong memories along the way.
